Colleen completed her degree in Occupational Therapy at Dalhousie University, and has been practicing as a Pediatric OT since 2001. She is passionate about helping children work towards meaningful goals, while teaming with caregivers to teach, empower, encourage and celebrate. Colleen has years of experience in working in home and community-based settings with families and educational teams and has served children from ages 0-19 years. Her practice has included working with children with a range of diagnosis, including but not limited to: Austism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder, Anxiety, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome, Fragile X, Cerebral Palsy and other genetic, neurological, and developmental conditions.
As an OT, Colleen’s main areas of consultation have included: positioning and equipment, dysphasia and tube feeding, sensory based feeding, fine motor, sensory processing / integration & self-regulation, self-help (e.g., feeding, toileting, dressing), and focus and attention. When not at work, Colleen is happiest skiing on a steep slope or a flat lake with her family, running along the beach with a friend, or cheering on her kids’ teams on a sideline.
